Hatred is all around us. It is in the air, thick like smog, suffocating us, drowning out our hope. And no one is off limits.
I am feeling so emotional after hearing about the mass shootings this weekend. The Orlando community has experienced a huge loss. It’s not about homosexuals. It’s about the human race. The people murdered are someone’s love one. A child, sibling, partner, spouse, cousin, classmate, friend. The list goes one. They are SOMEONE. They are someone’s LOVED ONE.
Across the country another mass murder happened. In a home, without the media. An entire family lost, a mother and her four daughters, possibly at the hands of the husband/father.
How did we get to a place in this world, in our society, where no one is off limits? Where children, specifically your own flesh and blood, mean less than the hatred in your heart?
I don’t even know what to say. I don’t know any of the victims or their families personally. But I am saddened and heartbroken that our world has come to this and that these families are dealing with this devastation.
Pray for the families and communities. Pray for those who have lost a loved one. Pray for our youth.
God bless, and be blessed.
