Sadness. Worry. Stress. Fear. The feelings and emotions are real. Life can be overwhelming. And even when we give our fears and worry to God, we still feel a lingering sense of sadness.

Lately we have a lot of worry in the world. Many have hit the lowest of their lows. It’s scary. It’s heartbreaking. It’s not fun. So we look for a source of comfort, a sense of comfort, a fragment of comfort. We look for something to make us feel okay.

Sadness is around us. Not necessarily depression, just the sadness when things are not going quite right. I see it, I feel it, I know it, and sometimes I live it. It’s real, it’s palpable, it’s life.

Sadness. How do we push it away? How do we keep it at bay? How do we…stop feeling the sadness?

And so we pray.
